Her style is a reflection of extensive commercial and classical musical training, allowing her to bring something unique and honest to all listeners. Sara has been performing since the age of 7 and has years of experience singing a variety of genres, but has special place in her heart for folk music. Performing traditional Scottish Gaelic music and American music, she remains a student of learning the traditions and histories of these treasured pieces, including the Scottish Gàidhlig language.
Sara is a voice professor at Lycoming College, where she also received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 2012. In addition to being an adjunct faculty member, she is also a vocal instructor at the Uptown Music Collective in Williamsport. Sara spent time living in Nashville, TN as a student at Belmont University’s Commercial music program and has also completed advanced studies at Penn State University in the Voice Performance and Pedagogy program. She remains an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
Most recently, she sang the role of Santuzza in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana with the Lycoming College Community Orchestra at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, PA. She was also featured as a soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G with the Bloomsburg University Chamber Orchestra and Jubilate Choir in Bloomsburg, PA and with the Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra for their Bernstein Celebration concert. In 2018, she was selected through national auditions to participate in the OperaWorks Advanced Artist Program held in Los Angeles, California. The four week intensive program includes a public performance of the world premier of Opera Reconstructed held at California State University, Northridge.
